Pastured Beef ...
The high CLA content of lean grassfed meat
has caught the attention of health minded consumers
nationwide. CLA (conjugated linoleic acid), has been shown
to help prevent cancer, obesity, and insulin resistance, and
there are claims that it may help lower cholesterol and
combat free radicals. The majority of Americans could never
get their recommended levels of CLA from the food they eat.
Red meats are the best source of CLA and the levels found in
grain fed meats are only 1/3 -1/5 of what we need. Grassfed
meats, however, contain 300-500% more CLA than is found in
grain fed meats. They are also higher in Omega-3 fatty
acids, and vitamins A, B, and E. Aside from the health
benefits, I haven't met a bovine yet who enjoyed the thought
of being crammed into a feedlot with hundreds of others,
have you? Most people, who have tasted 100% grassfed beef,
complain about a “grassy” flavor.
Research has shown that by
supplementing full pasture with a small amount of grain, we
can improve the flavor drastically, without significantly
impacting CLA levels. Our beef is pastured, with the
addition of a small amount of grain, to give you the best
